Michael Don teaches in the Department of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From Fall 2013 through Spring 2015 he taught creative writing at St. Paul’s University in Nairobi, Kenya, where he also served as one of the creative writing mentors for the Storymoja Hay Festival Fellows Program and co-founded Kikwetu: A Journal of East African Literature. His work has appeared in Washington Square Review, Fiction International, The Cortland Review, Per Contra, SmokeLong Quarterly, The Southampton Review, and elsewhere. He earned his MFA in fiction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.
